The City of Newark offers online permits through eTRAKiT which allows customers to apply, pay for, and obtain online permits for permit types listed here, as well as view inspections, and perform permit history searches. Please review the list of permit types available for online permits before continuing the online permit submittal process. Permit submittals that cannot be applied for through eTRAKiT:
Permit types that do not qualify for eTRAKiT submittals:
• Single Family Dwelling (New, Alterations or Additions) • Multi Family Dwelling (New, Alterations or Additions) • Tenant Improvement projects • Commercial projects • Master Plan Reviews
** Please note: City staff will confirm via email if your submittal has been accepted. A permit is not valid until the signed permit document is received by City staff.** The review time for a permit or project does not begin until we have received a complete application.
